System Administrator
Danh first joined LTF in 2006 because he felt drawn to the organization’s mission of providing high standards of academic excellence for all students. During his time at LTF, Danh has made truly exceptional IT innovations: he has utilized the latest technology to consolidate many of the servers, built a remote collocation data center for disaster recovery, and manages the entire state of the art data center. He has also developed a secure and scalable online environment in order to serve the many users of LTF online resources.
In addition to enjoying working with the talented and dedicated LTF team, Danh’s favorite part of his role is the opportunity to utilize the latest technology. “Since LTF is a nonprofit company,” he says, “we are able to get some of the software and hardware from various vendors at a much lower price. This in turn allows us to implement technologies that we may not otherwise be able to afford. For example, I am able to replace one third of our servers with Windows 2008 using Hyper-V virtualization technology while my peers are still testing in their development environment.”
Danh holds a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Computer Information Systems. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified Database Administrator in Microsoft SQL Server (MCDBA), and recently received Cisco CCNA Certification. In addition to his extensive experience with systems administration, Danh has taught 11 online computer courses for Iowa Central Community College and served in the US Army for six years as part of humanitarian efforts to retrieve MIA/POW from the conflict in Vietnam.
