"The training supplied by LTF in addition to the learning materials used to support instruction [is] superb. … Perhaps more importantly, by embracing the LTF philosophy for the first time in decades our vertical teams of teachers are communicating and helping shape the success of our graduates."

Ed Yergalonis, Assistant Superintendent Rahway Public Schools, New Jersey

Debra Squires

English Online Forum Facilitator

In 2003, the vertical team at Deb Squires's school was selected as one of the first TEA grant recipients to participate in training from LTF/AP Strategies. As the school underwent the three-year cycle of training and mentoring, everything Deb did in her classroom changed because of it. "I implemented as many of the philosophies and lessons as I possibly could, and the results were amazing," she says. "My kids were engaged and thinking on a higher level, and I was personally more interested in and fulfilled by my teaching."

Deb's success with her students didn't go unnoticed. In 2006, she was asked to be one of the first LTF contract trainers. Since then, she says that she has thoroughly enjoyed working with teachers and is happy to be the English Online Forum Facilitator. "I love that LTF is a culture of excellence. My colleagues are thoughtful, intelligent, creative people who work tirelessly to improve teaching and learning, and I'm proud to be a part of the team," says Deb.

Deb has a BA in English and a MS in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas.
