Chief Academic Officer
Ronda Brandon joined Advanced Placement Strategies as the English Director when it was formed in 2000. “Although I enjoyed working with AP and Pre-AP teachers in the program, my passion was to create classroom resources for Pre-AP teachers to equip more students with the skills necessary for college success,” she says. In 2001, she had the opportunity to begin fulfilling that passion. That year she pulled together a team of AP and Pre-AP teachers to create the Laying the Foundation materials for English and thus start to develop LTF into the organization we know today.
Over the past eleven years, Ronda has worked with the English team to create materials and build the model for training teachers and trainers. Before her present role as Chief Academic Officer, she held the position of Chief Operating Officer, in which she helped formalize the LTF Training program for math, science, and English and began to develop partnerships in other states to expand LTF Training.
Ronda has a BFA in Theatre and English and an M.Ed. in Administration. She served as a high school English teacher for seventeen years. In addition to being an invaluable member of LTF’s leadership team, today she is working toward her Ed.D. in Adult Education Leadership.
Of her personal philosophy of education, Ronda says this: “I believe all students have the right to an excellent education that will challenge, inspire, and prepare them to tackle any challenge they may face. I also believe that the teacher is the key to making this happen. Like all of the writing and training staff at LTF, I left the classroom because I thought I could affect the lives of more students by training teachers, and that’s what we do every day at LTF.”
