"The coordination of concepts, examples, and syllabi between the grade levels is so useable and flexible. The Skill Progression Charts create a framework which will help English Vertical Teams tremendously, guide new teachers, and most importantly, make 'equity and excellence' available to more students. I'm so impressed! Bravo!"

Research & Results

Results is one of the areas where LTF stands head and shoulders above the crowd. We are very proud of the results we've been able to produce while working alongside teachers and administrators. School districts that utilize LTF Training show an increase in the number of high school students taking Advanced Placement courses and receiving qualifying scores on Advanced Placement exams for math, science, and English.

Here are some of the results from districts using LTF. Would you like to see results like this in your district?

Results from Ruston High School in Louisiana

Teachers and administrators at Ruston High School in northern Louisiana needed a seamless transition from middle school English to AP curriculum. In 2009, a group of English teachers from across the Lincoln Parish district attended their first LTF training. The increase in student performance and shift in teachers’ practices Ruston High School saw in the first three years of implementing the program demonstrate the impact of administration identifying a need and allowing teachers to lead change.

Since implementing LTF strategies, the percent of students making qualifying scores on AP exams increased from 33.3 percent in 2008 to 85.1 percent in 2011. The Ruston High School graduation rate soared as did its Louisiana School Performance Score. Ruston High School represents what LTF envisions for all schools: empowered teachers, successful students, and lasting results.

Results from Pin Oak Middle School in Texas

After implementing LTF Training in 2004, Pin Oak Middle School continues to experience soaring "percent commended" rates for its eighth-grade students in reading, math, and science.

Results from Methuen High School in Massachusetts

Methuen High School started its AP program in 1990. Twenty-six students participated in two AP courses (Calculus and English Literature) that year. Today, students at the school may choose from 13 different AP course offerings, including AP Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English Language and Literature

The increase in Methuen High students taking AP classes between 1990 and 2009, just before Mass Insight Education began its program there, was 185 percent. While this was a considerable increase, it did occur over an almost 20-year period. Between just two years—from 2009 to 2011—the increase was 238 percent!
