There is a great article found on ScienceNow concerning a symbiotic relationship between bivalves, bacteria and seagrasses.   These meadows of seagrass serve as nurseries for many marine species.   Much like many ecosystems, seagrass meadows are often marginalized and disturbed.  Past restoration efforts have typically failed but insight into this new partnership gives scientists new hope.  This would be a great article to share with your students.
